Spicy Lassi/Buttermilk

2 cups water

1/2 cup plain yogurt

¼ tsp cumin powder

1 pinch of salt- use normal salt, Himalaya salt or black salt

Few fresh coriander leaves

Method of preparation-

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend for 1-2 minutes. Adjust salt according to taste and dosha.

Pour in a glass, decorate with few coriander leaves and serve.

Variation-

For further Kapha balancing fresh ginger or a pinch of ginger powder can be added

Notes-

Spicy lassi or buttermilk is useful for all dosha

Yoghurt is Kapha disturbing. Diluted and churned yoghurt drink is Kapha balancing. The act of churning helps in kindling Agni- the digestive fire. This spicy lassi or buttermilk recipe can be used also in winter times.

During the meal one should sip on small amounts of a warm drink or normal  water

At the end of a meal, a cup of spicy lassi or buttermilk made with diluted and churned yogurt helps in good digestion.
